Manufacturing Engineer

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical components, systems, and equipment. You will collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions that meet customer and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems from concept through production
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software in accordance with company and industry standards
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection to ensure performance, safety, and durability
- Support prototyping, testing, validation, and design verification activities
- Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and cost efficiency
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Troubleshoot design, manufacturing, or field issues and implement corrective actions
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and change requests
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering change processes
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors on component design, sourcing, and technical requirements as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 2–7 years of experience in mechanical or design engineering (manufacturing or industrial environment preferred)
- Experience with product design, equipment design, or tooling/fixture design
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
- Ability to perform basic stress, thermal, and motion analysis
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Work Environment
- Modern manufacturing facility environment with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, and vibration
- Noise levels can be loud
Physical Demands
- Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
