Position Summary:
The centerless tube grinder position involves setting up and operating one or more centerless grinding machines to grind external outer diameter of metal workpieces to blueprint specifications, following tooling instructions and standard charts.
Essential Job Functions:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED, vocational training
CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: forklift operator’s license preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None
Position Type and Expected Hours:
This is a full-time non-exempt position with a minimum of 40hrs / week with overtime as needed. Note: days and hours required may vary.
Shifts include
1st - Monday-Friday – 7:00am-3:30pm
2nd - Monday-Thursday – 3:30pm-2:00am ($1.00 per hour shift premium)
Weekend Days – Fri, Sat, Sun – 5:00am-5:30pm ($2.00 per hour shift premium)

The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Essential Job Functions:
- Set up, maintain and operate centerless tube grinder
- Verify dimensions of ground workpiece for conformance to specs, using precision measuring tools
- Perform first article checks
- Change machine settings to do custom work with unusual materials
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Package parts for shipping
- Complete job documentation
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED, vocational training
