Technique is looking for a General Labor associate to join our team at our Jackson, Michigan facility. This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor in the Manufacturing department. The employee will perform general labor tasks in a manufacturing setting, including operating machines, cleaning and inspecting parts, and finishing materials. This position gives the opportunity to learn a trade from the best technicians in the industry, with numerous opportunities to grow into different setup roles.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. No prior experience is required – we’re looking for someone who can multitask, solve basic problems, work well in a team, and is willing to learn. A High School Diploma or GED and a forklift operator’s license (or willingness to obtain one) are preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery and equipment – Operate a variety of manufacturing machinery and equipment as required by production needs.
- Wash, deburr, sort, paint, and inspect parts – Use hand tools and equipment to wash, deburr, sort, paint, and inspect parts to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area – Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards throughout the shift.
- Assist welders and setup techs – Assist welders and setup technicians with machine setup, adjustments, and material handling.
- Package parts for shipping – Properly package finished parts for shipping in accordance with customer and internal requirements.
- Complete job documentation – Accurately complete all required job documentation for production runs.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions – Identify and report equipment malfunctions or production issues to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Follow safety policies and procedures – Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational training preferred
- Forklift operator’s license preferred
- No prior experience required
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic problem solving skills
- Ability to read blueprints
- Basic math skills
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the shift
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, vibration, and loud noise
- No travel required for this position
